Growth Through Mentorship

- As a professional, I am always looking for ways to improve my skills, gain new perspectives, and advance my career. One way to achieve this is through a mentorship program. I will share with you my journey with the program and how I was able to successfully accomplish it.

It all started when I applied through an online application, where a set of qualifications were presented to confirm if I meet the standards and requirements. Qualified applicants like me will go through a series of interviews and evaluations to become one of the organization's professional partners.

Once accepted, the mentorship program begins with an orientation to establish the program's objectives and expectations. The orientation provides an overview of the assigned tasks, services, and protocols, as well as outlines the roles and responsibilities of the assignment. During the orientation, I was assigned to take notes and ask questions after the presentation, and I was also guided on contracts, agreements, and the protocols to follow.

The mentorship program then commenced by setting daily and weekly objectives. Each step prepared me to perform the tasks, granted me opportunities for immersion and on-the-job training, and provide more context on the skills, knowledge, and attitude required to perform the duties and responsibilities successfully. The mentor allowed me to observe specific tasks and responsibilities being implemented in real-time, use practice forms to exercise my ability to account for and record data and guided me to make daily reflections on my work.

Performance appraisals are an integral part of any mentorship program, and regular feedback sessions were scheduled to evaluate my progress, provide tips, and set goals for future development. The feedback process was a two-way dialogue, where I was encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions for improvement. I was also given the opportunity to conduct a self-evaluation to reflect on my progress and identify areas where I need to improve. If I was not meeting the program's objectives, a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) was developed to help me improve my work.

Indeed, participating in a mentorship program has been a valuable experience for me as a service professional looking to improve my skills and advance my career. The mentorship program's focus on goal setting, regular performance appraisals, and constructive feedback provided me with the support I needed. With regular communication and, a commitment to achieving program objectives, both the mentor and I worked together to create a productive and collegial work environment.

If you are a service professional looking to improve your skills and advance your career, I highly recommend applying for for a mentorship program. With the right support and guidance, you can harness your abilities and be at your best. Here's the detailed process of the program I recieved:
